ECS 2026

ECS 2026

The European Cetacean Society Conference 2026 in Dundee was a blast! This was both my first ECS conference and my first ever art stand, so to say it was overwhelming is a bit of an understatement. And I'm sure I'm not the only one even now still somewhat recovering.

However it was a seriously good three days, and it was amazing to speak to so many of you who have followed my work online over the last few years. I was also sharing the artist space with 3 other fantastic artists so it was lovely to be part of a little group there! This is the first year that ECS has hosted artists at a conference, and it did seem to go down well so make sure you let the organisers know if this is something you want to see at future events!

I was certainly kept busy with sales, and I couldn't quite believe the queue for my stand in the breaks. My Risso's pins and fin whale stickers were especially popular, and the conference was also a great opportunity to find out what people wanted to see more of, and what was missing. I had several requests for sperm whale pins, harbour porpoise and pilot whale stickers, and more pinnipeds generally. It's given me some direction for my next designs, which are in the works. It was a real privilege to display and sell my art in this way, and I'm hugely grateful to both the organisers for making things so smooth and to everyone who purchased a fundraiser print to get me there. Without the sale of these prints I would not have been able to attend at all, so thank you again for your kindness and support.

As I am currently both working and living on site at a wildlife protection job, I am unable to open my store for the time being, but you'll still be able to browse my main items. I'll be working on getting products restocked and new items designed and created for opening later in the year. I'm still available for wholesale, so if you are a charity or organisation with a shop and are looking to stock my items, don't hesitate to get in contact via the contact form on my website. I'll be posting announcements on Instagram as well as updates from my conservation work so make sure you're following me at @pint_of_angry_bees! https://www.instagram.com/pint_of_angry_bees/
